Steve and Ginger were married at the legendary Martha-Mary Chapel in Sudbury, Massachusetts. It was an intimate gathering of family and close friends.
The day was orchestrated perfectly by Melanie Voros, wedding planner extraordinaire. I had worked with Melanie last year and was happy to recommend her to the couple. If anyone needs a wedding planner, she is THE person to call first. You can visit her website here. She is a licensed Justice of the Peace and officiated Steve and Ginger’s ceremony as well.
The ceremony was simple but very sweet. Memorable were “The Blessing of the Hands” read warmly by the groom’s sister Lisa and a very touching excerpt from “The Velveteen Rabbit” from the bride’s daughter Jocelyn. I think the thing I will remember the most was when the bride was reading her own vows and became emotional, how gently Steve held her hands to give her the support she needed to make it through.
The reception at the Wayside Inn was like a family gathering. A lot of talking and laughing and very comfortable. There was a rule, because it was in one of the smaller rooms on the second floor of the Inn that, other than a ceremonial first dance for the bride and groom, there was to be no dancing. Did I mention that the groom’s family is of both Latin and Irish heritage? Oh yes, we broke the rules.
